Emma Charlesworth is a writer and advocate for those navigating grief and life after loss.

She began documenting her journey on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic after her husband Charlie fell ill and lost his life in 2020 leaving Emma widowed at the age of 39 and a solo parent to her then 10-year-old daughter. Her writing blends honesty, resilience, and warmth, using her personal experience to help others feel less alone.

Emma is the creator of Life Is a Rollercoaster, a blog followed for its unfiltered look at griet, solo parenting, and the quiet strength found in everyday moments.

In November 2025, her book Is Daddy Going to Be OK? was published. The book is a powerful memoir about love, loss, and learning to carry on while honouring the person who shaped your world. She has also authored articles in The Independent and Metro.

Additionally, Emma became a Trustee for the charity WAY Widowed and Young in

2025. She lives with her daughter and is committed to ensuring that Charlie's story, and the stories of so many others lost during the pandemic, are never reduced to statistics.
