Kari Anson

Kari Anson is a psychology graduate and qualified teacher with extensive experience in education and care.


She has been a dedicated foster carer for over 10 years, drawing on her own lived experience as a care-experienced young person from age 13 to 18. Kari currently serves as the Headteacher of Brays Special School, an outstanding special needs school recognised by Ofsted for its exceptional sense of belonging and inclusive environment.


Under Kari’s leadership, the school has not only achieved outstanding ratings but has also developed a proven track record for improving staff wellbeing and fostering a positive, supportive culture. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every child feels valued and empowered to reach their potential.


Beyond her professional role, Kari is the Chair of The Gold from the Stone Foundation, a charity dedicated to providing Christmas dinners for care leavers, reflecting her passion for supporting vulnerable young people in her community
