Specialisms: Mental health well being resilience surviving the care system being a survivor of CSA co production peer support

I’m Marc Ewen — a mental health and suicide prevention trainer, consultant, and speaker with over three decades of lived, professional, and academic experience across health, education, community, and public-sector settings.

My work sits at the intersection of mental health, trauma, safeguarding, and psychological safety. I don’t speak about these issues from a distance — I speak from real-world experience, grounded evidence, and a deep understanding of how systems succeed or fail the people they’re meant to support.

I’ve worked as a trainer, consultant, inspector, researcher, lecturer, and lived-experience contributor, supporting organisations to move beyond box-ticking and into meaningful, preventative practice.

I’m known for cutting through jargon, challenging unsafe narratives, and creating spaces where difficult conversations can happen safely, honestly, and productively.

As the founder of Embrace Mental Health 365, I deliver and design training across suicide prevention, mental health for leaders and managers, trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, workplace culture, and the ethical use of lived experience. I also work with universities and professional programmes, supporting healthcare students, educators, and practitioners to build confidence, compassion, and clarity in high-pressure roles.

My speaking style is direct, grounded, and engaging. I combine evidence, storytelling, and practical insight — with warmth, humour where appropriate, and a clear focus on impact. Audiences often describe my sessions as challenging in the best way: honest, thought-provoking, and immediately applicable.

I’m particularly passionate about:

  • Suicide prevention that avoids slogans and centres responsibility

  • Trauma-informed approaches that are realistic, not performative

  • Psychological safety in workplaces and education

  • Ethical, supported use of lived experience

  • Early intervention over crisis response

I speak because these conversations matter — and because getting them right saves harm, resources, and lives.
