Danielle is cis-gender and now identifies as pansexual. Why? Well, identifying as heterosexual became somewhat tricky when her husband came out as transgender 19 years into their relationship. She is now her brave and frankly amazing wife, Sophie Wood. This revelation turned both their worlds upside down. When you've lived a life that most would refer to as 'normal' and you felt like you had your place in the world, you belonged and then you lose it overnight it can be a bitter pill to swallow. The journey they have been on since then has seen loss of friends and family, heartbreak, emotionally charged decisions, escape plans that went wrong and mental health struggles including suicide attempts. All of this has been peppered with realisations, learnings and epiphany moments. It’s fair to say it’s been a really bumpy ride. However, they’ve rebuilt and looked for the silver linings. They (Danielle and Sophie) now draw on their lived experience and combine it with their professional experience to deliver talks, panel events, keynote speeches, workshops, training and coaching. They raise awareness around the importance of belonging using the gender transition journey to highlight how building an inclusive culture brings benefits to both individuals and the success of a business. They live in Spain with their three adorable rescue dogs and deliver the majority of their inputs online. However, in-person is also an option. info@speakerscollective.org BOOK A SPEAKER OR GET IN TOUCH FOR MORE INFORMATION Submit Thanks for your speaker request and we will be in touch soon.
