Simon Blake

Specialisms: LGBTQ+, Mental Health and Well-being in the workplace, Grief and Loss'

Simon is the CEO of MHFA England, deputy Chair of the LGBT charity, Stonewall, a Companion of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the their Committee, CMI Race.

 

Prior to working at MHFA England Simon was CEO at National Union of Students and Brook the young people’s sexual health charity. He has held a number of paid and unpaid senior positions at National Children’s Bureau, Sex Education Forum, Black Health Agency and Diversity Role Models. In 2011 he was awarded an OBE for services to the voluntary sector and young people.

 

He has written on sex education, Teenage Pregnancy, Personal, Social, Health Education and Citizenship, and mental health and wellbeing. He recently co-edited a book Sisters and Brother: stories about the death of a sibling with Julie Bentley.

 

Simon is a reluctant runner, dog lover and horse rider. He has a dog called Dolly named after Dolly Parton and a horse called Boris, named after nobody famous.
