Dan Glass is an educator, performer and film presenter recognised as 'Activist of the Year,' ‘campaigning role model’ and 'BBC Greater Londoner' for founding ‘Queer Tours of London - A Mince Through Time’.
His book(s) ‘United Queerdom’ won Observer book of the week and he is now touring with his latest book ‘Queer Footprints - A Guide to Uncovering London’s Fierce History’ by Pluto Press.
As a human rights defender, film presenter, investigative reporter and art-activist, Dan is often known for high-profile political stunts such as supergluing the former UK Prime Minister demanding climate action or organising HIV anti-stigma classes as part of the anti-fascist 'Beyond UKIP Cabaret' in Nigel Farage's pub.
Behind the scenes, Dan continues to dedicate his life to transformational leadership supporting a wide range of social justice movements. Hugely influenced by his Grandparents stories surviving the Nazi Holocaust, he has helped catalyse empowerment programmes in the UK, Germany, Uganda, Poland, Russia and beyond.
Dan is on the international leadership committee of the Training for Transformation educational programme born out of the Anti-Apartheid movement, that enables social justice movements to develop critical consciousness and creativity at the core of their efficacy.
Dans recent programmes involve facilitating mass-trainings with the Beautiful Trouble art-ivist network and as an artist with ‘In Place of War’, facilitating the Gay Liberation Front 50th anniversary Pride celebrations and presenting the films ‘Never Again - Fighting the Polish far-right’ and ‘Censoring Palestine - the Weaponising Anti-semitism’.
Reforming ‘Aids Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) London chapter, Dan has been part of catalysing healthcare and sex-positive programmes including campaigning for PREP, protecting the National Health Service through presenting "Death by a Thousand Cuts: The Great NHS Sell-Off” which won "Award of Excellence" at the DOCS Without Borders Film Festival and producing 'HIV / HEP Blind Date' a theatre dating- show for people living with HIV and related conditions.
Dan recently founded Queer/Trans Muay Thai & Self Defence movement Bender Defenders and Queer Night Pride to confront rising hate crime and is now working on a new film and book that celebrates trailblazing LGBTQIA+ activists from World War 2, to come out in 2024 - 2025.
